Sandboarding and that — Pisco, Peru
After waking up at ridiculous o'clock to watch Arsenal get spanked by Man United we were picked up and taken to some sand dunes on the way to Pisco. The dune buggy looked to be quite tame as it was enormous but we were really thrown about and it was thrilling. We also had a go at sand-boarding which was fun if a little scary. You basically lie down on a big flat board and tip yourself over a sand dune head first. I rolled over a couple of times which meant I was still extracting sand from my nooks and crannies for about a week afterwards. We passed by an Oasis on the way back and stopped at a nice hotel to sample some seafood and have a swim.
Our next stop was a Pisco winery where we learnt about the brewing process and how they develop the different varieties. Obviously the best bit was the sampling at the end where we were taught different Quecha ways of saying cheers. The next stop was Paracas, a small town on the coast.
